About Plot2Plan
Plot2Plan — also written Plot 2 Plan, plot2plan, plot2plan.com — is a free website for people who own or are buying a house plot in India. You give it the plot; it gives you the plan.
What it does
Type your plot size, the side the road is on and the road's width. Plot2Plan works out the building rules for that plot — how far the house must stay from each edge, how many floors and how much built-up area are allowed — and shows the clause each figure comes from. It then drafts a floor plan inside those limits, checks the plan against the same rules, and draws it in 2D and 3D. You can change the plan by typing what you want or by dragging rooms on the drawing.
If you are still deciding on a plot, the plot feasibility report answers the questions to ask before paying an advance. If you already have a house, you can copy it into a floor plan from a photo, a sketch or by splitting it into rooms yourself.
How the numbers are made
The rules are computed by ordinary program code from the published by-law, never by an AI. The AI only arranges rooms inside the limits that code has already fixed, and a separate checker decides whether the result is within them. That is why every plan carries a plain verdict rather than a promise.
The rules themselves are explained on the Chennai building rules guide and the plot-size pages under Guides.
Where it works
Chennai is live. Other cities are added as their rules are checked; until then a plot elsewhere can be planned by entering your own local rule figures. The material calculators under Tools work anywhere.
What it is not
Plot2Plan is a planning aid, not an architect and not an approval. Its drawings are a starting point to take to a licensed professional, who must confirm everything before you buy or build. See the terms.
Cost and contact
Plot2Plan is free to use and you do not need an account to make a plan. Questions and corrections: vinodhec@gmail.com.
